    Site Summary
    • 30 acres (12ha)
    • Planted glades
    • Wildflower meadows
    • Ancient farmland
    • Excellent views of of the Ingrebourne Valley, especially towards Hornchurch and Elm Park with the south Essex skyline in the distance
    • Linked by pedestrian bridge over the River Ingrebourne to Hornchurch Country Park and the Ingrebourne Marshes
    • Linked to Berwick Woods by footpath
    • Planted by the Forestry Commission in 2003
    Site History

    An aerial photographic survey suggests this site has been settled and farmed for over 4000 years. This archaeological study revealed signs both of Bronze Age and Iron Age farmsteads with possibly a Bronze Age burial mound on the site.

    Planted as a woodland in 2003 by the Forestry commission.
